How 2FA works on Castr
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Castr account by requiring both your password and a time-sensitive code from your phone. Even if someone steals your password, they won't be able to access your account without your device.
How to enable two-factor authentication on Castr
1. Go to Settings > Security and click Enable 2FA.
2. Open an authenticator app on your phone (e.g., Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator).
3. Scan the QR code with the Authenticator app, OR tap 'Enter code manually' and type in the provided setup key.
Important: Write down the backup/recovery code you'll get from the app and save it. This will be a backup method for retrieving your account in case you lose access to your authenticator app or your phone.
4. The app will generate a rotating six-digit code. Enter this code on the Castr and click "Confirm"
From now on, every time you log in, enter your password as usual, then check your authenticator app for the current 6-digit code and enter it within 30 seconds.
How to disable two-factor authentication on Castr
If you ever want to stop using 2FA, you can return to Settings > Security and click Disable 2FA.
