Start streaming to Telegram easily using the following steps.

Setting Up Telegram for Streaming:

Mobile:

  1. Choose your Telegram channel/group.

  2. Access settings via the icon in the top right.

  3. Select Live Stream or Video Chat.

  4. Tap Stream with... and copy the Server URL and Stream Key.

Desktop:

  1. Select your Telegram channel/group.

  2. Access settings via the three dots (Mac) or chat icon (Windows).

  3. Choose Live Stream or Video Chat.

  4. Click Start with... and copy the Server URL and Stream Key.

Configuring Castr:

  1. On Castr, go to Destinations.

  2. Click Custom and choose RTMP.

  3. Paste the URL and Stream Key into Castr, then add the channel.

Start and End Your Stream:

  • Start streaming on Castr and then on Telegram by tapping Start Streaming.

  • To end, tap Leave on Telegram, select End Video Chat, and finish by ending the stream on Castr.

Streaming Requirements:

  1. Plan Availability:
    Streaming to Telegram is supported across all Castr plans, including the basic tier, so you can start streaming no matter which plan you're on.

  2. Permissions:
    To stream to a Telegram group or channel, you must be the owner or an admin of that group/channel.

  3. Stream Key Management:
    Every Telegram channel and group has a distinct stream key. Be sure to update the correct stream key for the specific channel or group before you begin your stream.
