In this article:

1. What are Webhooks?

Webhooks are powerful tool that can save you a lot of time and resources. It allows you to automate your workflow by letting you know when specific events happen in your streams.

Currently, you can receive webhook notifications about the following events:

  1. When your stream starts

  2. When your stream ends

We intend to include additional events soon. If there is an event you want to track using webhooks, please let us know, and we will make a plan for it.

2. What are Webhooks used for?

Webhooks are used by apps (e.g. Zapier) to automate workflows

You can configure your app so that it will activate automatic workflows whenever it receives a webhook.

For example, you can set up the auto-posting like: as soon as your stream starts, Castr will send a webhook, and your app (e.g. zapier) will post the stream on your twitter and facebook.

3. How to set up Webhooks on Castr?

To create your webhook, first go to the "Alerts" tab in your stream and choose the Webhook option.

Choose a name for your webhook and provide the URL where you want events to be sent. Then, click on "Save" when finished.

Note:

  • You are limited to adding only one webhook link per stream. If you wish to add multiple webhooks for a stream, please reach out to our sales team

  • Webhook is available for Ultra Plan users. (If you have a legacy plan, you can still access Webhook if you have Multistream Business, All in One Business, or higher plans)
