If you have stepped into the world of streaming protocols already, you may have come across SRT, or Secure Reliable Transport. You also probably know of RTMP, or Real-Time Messaging Protocol.

These are two of the most common protocols used in audio and video streaming. When you create a new livestream on Castr, you will get the details for both of these protocols.

To see how they differ, check out our blog!

When you create a new stream in Castr, you can find the RTMP ingest details automatically generated in the Stream Source Setup.

  1. Open an All in One/Multistream project in Castr

  2. From the Stream Source Setup, copy the RTMP URL and Streaming Key

  3. Paste into your encoder's RTMP configuration

Note: If your encoders ask for a username and password, leave the fields empty. Authentication using a username and password is not required to start streaming to Castr.

  2. In the Stream Source Setup, you can find the SRT URL
