Before making your stream available to viewers, you may want to run internal tests to ensure everything is working as expected. Once testing is complete and the stream is ready, you can enable playback for your audience.
This can be done using the Disable Playback option.
How to Use Disable Playback
Go to Livestreams in your dashboard.
Open the Playback section.
Toggle off Enable Playback to stop sending the stream to the player.
When playback is disabled, viewers will see the player in an offline state.
Toggle of the Enable Playback to stop sending the stream to the player.
What Happens When Playback Is Disabled?
When playback is disabled:
Viewers will see the player in an offline state.
If a poster image or countdown timer is configured, it will still be displayed.
Stream recording will continue as normal.
The stream will still be sent to all configured destinations (e.g., YouTube, Facebook, etc.).
The preview player inside the dashboard will continue to show the live stream.
Stream will still be available via HLS url (if activated).
Only the public-facing player will stop showing the live stream.
