1. Network and Browser Requirements

1.1 Minimum Bandwidth Requirements

For the best experience on Castr, we recommend the following minimum download speeds by video quality:

1.2 Browser Support

Castr supports playback on the following desktop browsers:
- Google Chrome 30 or higher
- Mozilla Firefox 27 or higher
- Microsoft Edge
- Safari 9 or higher

We recommend using the latest version of any browser for the best experience.

1.3 Mobile Support

Castr supports mobile playback on:
- Android 8.0 and above
- iOS 16 and above

1.4 Network and Firewall Requirements

To ensure smooth playback, please make sure:
- Ports 80 (HTTP), 1935 (RTMP), 9998 - 9999 (SRT) and 443 (HTTPS) are open
- Whitelist the following domains:
• *.castr.io
• *.castr.com
• *.akamaized.net
• *.fastly.net
No additional ports or protocols are required.

1.5 Advanced Playback

Castr supports advanced playback features including H265 - HEVC, 360° video, and ultra-high-resolution video. Hardware acceleration, WebGL, and modern codec support are required for these playback modes.

2. System Requirements for Viewing, Browsing, and Apps

2.1 Supported Browsers

Castr supports the latest and two previous major versions of the following browsers:
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Safari
- Edge

Browsers must support H.264 video decoding for playback.

2.2 Advanced Playback Features

Castr supports HDR, 360° video, and playback in resolutions higher than 1080p, including 2K and 4K. These features require hardware acceleration, WebGL, and modern GPU/codec support.

2.3 Mobile and Desktop Apps

Castr provides native apps for desktop platforms. The requirements are:
- macOS: Supported on macOS Sequoia (version 15)
- Windows: Supported on Windows 10
